It’s pretty unfortunate but it seems like Covid-19 is not ready to let us be great. I decided to create the perfect oasis for staycation at home this Summer amid the pandemic.
Because we have small children, it’s important to try our best to be extra careful considering the fact that the numbers for Covid-19 keep rising. This year, a family vacation is not on the schedule. We might end up doing probably one day trip just to get out of the house.
One thing for sure, home will be where we will spend this summer. Also, we will spend a lot of time on our deck before Winter hits.
With all that in mind, I decided to turn our deck into the perfect oasis to chill with my little family.

Shop Outdoor Sets
Let me just begin by saying that this look was not the original vision I had for the deck when we moved in. I wanted a coastal blue and white look. 🙂 Please don’t ask me why blue because I don’t even like blue like that lol. The blue didn’t happen and I ended up with black furniture; thanks to Leo 🙂
If you know me, then you must know I’m not a fan of black unless it’s a little black dress or a black leggings 🙂
It was in June/July 2019 that we were shopping for outdoor furniture and Leo fell in love with this set from the At home Store. There was another one that I loved but he didn’t care for it. To make a long story short, Leo picked his favorite set.
I know the dark color is perfect because we have small children but I didn’t think it was pretty. This summer, I know that we will be spending a lot of time our deck so I wanted to make it cute and add my touch of white.
I called Fatim, et Voila !!!
We simply added lots of white, off-white and ivory accessories such as planters, side table, pillows and a blanket.
Most of the pieces in these photos were purchased last year. Some of the items are also from Homegoods but I’ve linked similar options throughout the post.

This French Cafe Bistro set has to be my favorite funiture on my patio. Having a French cafe set at home has always been a dream. 🙂 When I saw this set at Homegoods in early April 2019, it was a no brainer. I had to have it 🙂
For instance, when you already have a vision or a pretty clear idea of what you want to create , it’s helpful to start shopping slowly. When you start to buy things slowly, it helps you spread out the expenses a bit and you don’t feel it as much. That’s a great way to start your home refresh or home decor project.

To create the little backdrop I used:
